UK Student Starpack Awards

For over 10  years, Logoplaste has been a proud sponsor of the Student and School Starpack Awards in the UK. This year it is no different.

Starpack encourages young people to take up careers in the exciting world of consumer packaging design.

In the Student category this year Logoplaste have challenged students with a design brief aptly named “LET THE FUN BE GIN” where they have to create a design and mock up for a rigid plastic bottle that promotes the total Gin drinking experience.

The pack will be aimed at offering E- Commerce market suitability so any postal delivery constraints must be considered. The pack should be designed in such a way that it can withstand the full supply chain demands.

Structural design should offer really premium aesthetics and the bottle should sit well on the shelf or the home gin bar.

But that is not all, participating students need to consider material choice, sustainability, recyclability as well as circular economy issues and design.

The winner for this category will receive a cash prize of £600 or a work experience trip, to our Cascais HQ, to spend time learning from our Logoplaste and iLAB colleagues.

Darren Wingrove, iLAB Project Manager, is the primary contact person for the Starpack Awards and helps to judge the competition

“Working with the Starpack Students gives them a valuable insight into the world of packaging development. This helps them to become more aware of the value rigid plastics offer our society, and also the challenges, and helps build the platform for our future generation of packaging designers

The grand final March 2021.
